Three units from Clarksville Fire Rescue responded, and there were 22 firefighters on the scene, Williams said.Įmergency Medical Services set up a tent and resting station for them to cool off, and the neighboring Kangaroo Store was providing drinking water as firefighters battled the fire and heat. The fire was under control by 11:45 a.m., but firefighters continued to pour water into the building to put out remaining hot spots for another two hours. He has owned the restaurant for 22 years. He said he is talking with his insurance company, and he hopes to keep the standing brick facade. The restaurant's owner, James Long, said his goal is to reopen in four to six months. "They are going to have to gut that out," Williams said. Thick soot and blackened insulation covered the entire dining room, and the blaze destroyed the kitchen. Firefighter sprayed water through shattered windows and used tools to pull down parts of burnt ceiling to get to areas that were still smoking. ![]() While the brick structure remains standing, there is heavy fire, smoke and water damage inside.
